Owner Manuel Bernaschek has a passion. As a piano lover who recognized the need for fine pianos in Vancouver, he founded Showcase Pianos in 2007. Showcase Pianos carries only the finest artist's instruments, highlighting world-class brands such as Fazioli, Grotrian, and Bechstein's 'W. Hoffmann' line. But it was the Fazioli piano that inspired Manuel the most. For many years there was much talk in the piano community about a man in Italy who was making the finest pianos in the world. "We kept hearing that more and more famous pianists were converting to playing on Fazioli pianos, so I really wanted to bring them here," says Manuel. He was determined to introduce one of the greatest concert grands in the world to his talented locale, handmade by world-renowned Paolo Fazioli. The German-made Grotrians are another notable draw - as are the economical 'W. Hoffmann' series by Bechstein, another performance instrument completely made in Europe. Over the past several years, Showcase Pianos has made a name for itself serving exquisite instruments of music to cherish and enjoy, with a crescendo of acclaim that resounds throughout Vancouver's most illustrious private homes and concert halls. Manuel Bernaschek is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Spanish. On most weekdays mornings he can be found at the Broadway location, and most afternoons and weekends he is at the store in Aberdeen Centre. Manuel believes strongly in his community, and is on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver International Song Institute (VISI), as well as Place Des Arts in Coquitlam, and works with the Vancouver Police Department's 'Odd Squad' Fundraiser.

YANA LEVKOVICH -- Vancouver Store Sales Manager yanal@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 437-5161 -- (604) 836-6993 Yana was born in the Ukraine near Kiev and started playing piano at the age of six. Yana studied with the great teacher who was also associated world famous Russian pianist Sviatoslav Richter, who was also born in the same city. Yana continued her studies and now holds a Bachelor in Music. After immigrating to Canada, Yana became very involved in Vancouver's music community as an educator, piano performer and singer. Yana has a vast knowledge of the construction of pianos, and has worked as a piano consultant for more than a decade. Yana has a passion for fine quality instruments, and loves to share her expertise with anyone looking for more information related to the study of music and the search for a good piano. Yana regularly conducts workshops and seminars related to the study of music and choosing the right piano.

TINA HUNKO -- Richmond Store Sales Manager tinah@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 270-8883 Tina was born in Xian China and started taking Piano lessons when she was 6 years old. After immigrating to Hong Kong with her family, she had continued her piano lessons until she became a Piano and Digital Piano teacher. Tina once again immigrant to Canada with family, and continued her Piano teaching. After 6 years of successfully selling many pianos through another local piano store, Tina realized that she really loves fine quality pianos and enjoys sharing her knowledge with her community and customers. Tina truly understands the value of investing in a good piano, and she would like to share her experience and knowledge with you. Through years of experience, Tina realizes that most of the parents appreciate receiving some help with their search for the right piano for their family. Rachel Lam -- Piano Consultant / Teacher rachell@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Rachel Lam, ARCT, dip ABRSM, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music degree from Simon Fraser University with a major in Electroacoustic Composition and World Music. She has been playing the piano since the age of 6 and it has been a passion of hers to analyze and explore piano compositions from various genres and composers. Teaching from a young age, she has a deep interest in learning different piano pedagogic methods from teachers and philosophers from all over of the world. In addition to piano, she plays the flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet and French horn. Rachel has taught music and band at international institutions, and has staged musicals with professional artists and educators in Canada, Japan and Hungary. She has conducted and sung in numerous choirs and has been invited and choreographed for the CEESA Choir Festival in Moscow, Russia. She is a member of the Budapest all women acapella singing group Sirens and has performed in serveral concerts in Budapest.

Jenaya Carol -- Academy Manager jenayac@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Jenaya Carol began piano lessons at age 8 at the urgings of her performer-teacher grandfather and began teaching at age 16 when she opened a studio of her own. For years, she enjoyed teaching students of all ages and backgrounds and instructing them through private lessons, award programs, and public performances. A life-long student herself, she is a firm believer that, while hard work pays off, the best way to learn is to have fun doing it! Admittedly a perfectionist at heart, Jenaya is proud of her achievements including First-Class Honours in Grade 9 Piano and District Top Student Award in Music History 4. While accuracy and mastery are at the forefront, her philosophy is that music is also highly individual. That's why she encourages her students to develop their musical instincts and to cultivate their individual talents. Each student is encouraged to reach their full potential as artists, to cultivate a life-long love for music, and ultimately to enjoy sharing it with others. Classical music will always be her first love, but she confesses to exploring her talents in other genres such as jazz, blues and big band. In addition to teaching piano, she has worked with kids and teens in many capacities, including volunteer work at Edmonds Youth Centre and as a support worker to children with Autism and ADD. She is fluent in English and French and speaks "un poco de Espanol".

Julie Chang -- MYC Coordinator juliec@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Julie Chang is Taiwanese-born piano teacher that loves accounting. Julie enjoys music theory and traveling long distances to get to work. Julie is a graduate of UBC and is currently studying accounting part time.

ANNIE PEI -- Academy Administrative Assistant anniep@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 437-5161 Annie Pei has been playing piano since she was a young girl in China. Her love for music continued after her family immigrated to Canada. She enjoys skiing, drawing, and playing the piano for people who visit the store.

EMI CHING -- Academy Administration emic@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 437-5161 Emi Ching started her study of piano in Japan at the age of 5 and has loved piano ever since. Emi has been interested in the Fazioli pianos since hearing of the great popularity of Fazioli pianos in Japan. Emi is fluent in Japanese and English, and is learning Korean and Chinese. She can be found at the store in Aberdeen Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays.
