09 May Louis Lortie Makes Waves in Vancouver
During May 3 – 5, Vancouver’s Orpheum Theatre was overflowing with both excitement and music. Legendary pianist, Louis Lortie had just made waves in Vancouver with his music during his three days of concerts.
Louis Lortie is an incredible French-Canadian pianist with over 45 albums. Highly regarded as one of the world’s most versatile pianists, his performances and award-winning recordings have demonstrated his remarkable music range.
The concert opened with Debussy’s beautiful symphonic poem Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun. In the second half, the audience enjoyed the complete music from Act 2 of Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous Sleeping Beauty ballet. To make sure every piece was played to perfection, Louis Lortie chose a Fazioli piano to perform on.
